Jazz Gaming to Play Cavs, Wizards This Week

Coming Off Semifinal Finish at Second Tournament of NBA 2K League Season

SALT LAKE CITY (May 15, 2019) – After an impressive semifinal run at the midseason tournament in Las Vegas, Jazz Gaming, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, returns to regular season play in Week 7 against Cavs Legion GC at 4 p.m. (MT) on Thursday and Wizards District Gaming at 5 p.m. (MT) on Friday at the NBA 2K League Studio powered by Intel in New York City.

Jazz Gaming will also face Nets Gaming Crew in Week 8 action on Friday, May 24 at 8 p.m. (MT) before a bye week.

Entered as the No. 6 seed in the league’s second tournament (THE TURN powered by AT&T) which included all 21 teams, Jazz Gaming scored wins over Cavs Legion GC, 51-44, and T-Wolves Gaming, 56-53, before falling to the eventual champion Warriors Gaming Squad, 63-49, last weekend. The tournament marked the first time NBA 2K League games were held outside of New York City.

Jazz Gaming Las VegasJazz Gaming has won five of its last six games, currently owning 3-2 records in both regular-season play and tournament competition. All NBA 2K League games are livestreamed on the league’s Twitch and YouTube channels.

Alontae “Gliz” Proctor ranks fifth in NBA 2K League regular season scoring at 20.0 points per game this week. Shaka “Yeah I Compete” Browne is fifth at 9.2 assists per game. Spencer “Ria” Wyman recorded a double-double in his last meeting with Cavs Legion GC with 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Ria, the No. 1 overall selection in the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft, was recently featured on the league’s content series, “NBA 2K League Locked In powered by AT&T.” The episode, titled “A Tale of Two Rookies,” chronicled Ria’s journey to Jazz Gaming and his first weeks of competition with the club.
