Jazz Gaming Tips Off THE SWITCH on June 14

SALT LAKE CITY (June 13, 2022) — Jazz Gaming, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, will return to the virtual court at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14 in a matchup with Pacers Gaming to tip off the group play portion of the Coinbase NBA2KL 3v3 Blacktop Series THE SWITCH OPEN.

THE SWITCH will be the second 3v3 tournament of the NBA 2K League’s Season 5. Jazz Gaming currently holds a 3-3 record in 3v3 competition following THE SLAM OPEN in May. All matchups during the group play portion are best-of-five and first to 21 points wins.

Group play includes six games on June 14, 15, 17, 21, 23 and 24. All Jazz Gaming games are simulcast live on the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels.

Jazz Gaming’s three-man squad will be led by their All-NBA 2K League duo of Kimanni “Splashy” Ingram and Spencer “Ria” Wyman.

Splashy appeared in all 24 games during THE SLAM OPEN and led Jazz Gaming with 11.3 points and 2.3 assists per game, while shooting 62.6 percent from the floor.

Ria, the reigning NBA 2K League “Player of the Week” for Week 8, also appeared in all 24 games during THE SLAM OPEN, averaging 3.8 points on 37-of-67 (55.2 percent) field goal attempts.

Splashy and Ria will be joined by Kwan “followTHEGOD” Niblack, the 28th overall pick by Jazz Gaming in the 2022 NBA 2K League Draft. THE SWITCH will be followTHEGOD’s first 3v3 tournament of the season. The Bronx, N.Y., native has appeared in 12 5v5 games this season, averaging seven points and 2.5 rebounds per contest, while shooting a team-high 74.4 percent from the field.

“The 3v3 portion of the schedule is a new twist and we got our first taste of that earlier this season,” said Jazz Gaming head coach Jelani Mitchell. “We have made a few tweaks from our last 3v3 tournament, and we are excited to get back on the court and compete against a very talented field of 3v3 squads.”

During the group play portion of the tournament, Jazz Gaming will compete as part of the Western Conference’s Group 8, which includes Mavs Gaming, Pacers Gaming, and the Ankle Breakers, one of eight amateur teams that qualified for THE SWITCH.
