The NBA 2K League began the first stage of the tournament with a call for fans to sign up to compete in a fan bracket. Fan play concluded last Sunday with Flip the Script (PS4) and Team Retribution (Xbox) winning their respective tournaments. Those two teams have advanced to compete in the Showdown Bracket beginning tonight against NBA 2K League teams, including Jazz Gaming, and top players.

All games will take place in the NBA 2K20 MyPark game mode. All series, aside from the final rounds of each bracket, are structured best-of-three with the final round matchups in a best-of-five format. Teams will compete for their share of a$25,000 prize pool.

“We know practicing social distancing will benefit our communities during this extraordinary time, but we also realize that we all need to stay connected,” said Jelani “Comp” Mitchell, head coach of Jazz Gaming. “We hope this tournament provides a chance to bond with our fans over our shared love of basketball and the 2K community, and that it can provide a welcome distraction during these unprecedented times.”

Jazz Gaming has joined with the NBA family, including the NBA 2K League, to promote NBA Together – a global community and social engagement campaign that aims to support, engage, educate and inspire youth, families, and fans in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
